  • Grade 1

    Sunrise Edition

    Children love the great Bible stories of our amazing God and His people! Bible 1 familiarizes students with significant Bible stories from both the Old and New Testaments. Each lesson has two pages and focuses on one of God’s attributes seen in the story.

    The first page is a simply written Bible story that students will be able to return to and enjoy rereading as their reading abilities increase. The Teacher’s Guide includes an expanded version of the story. The second page of the lesson contains an activity such as coloring, finding hidden pictures, solving mazes or puzzles, numbering events in order, cutting and pasting, or matching.

    Bible 1 can be used as a devotional two or three times a week. The course includes no quizzes or tests. Students can enjoy learning Bible stories and truths without academic pressure or a heavy workload.

  • Grade 2

    Sunrise Edition

    Children love the great Bible stories of our amazing God and His people! Bible 2 familiarizes students with Bible stories from the Old Testament. Many stories from Grade 1 are retold and expanded. Each lesson has two pages and focuses on one of God’s attributes seen in the story.

    The first page is a simply written Bible story. The Teacher’s Guide includes an expanded version of the story. The second page of the lesson contains an activity such as ordering events, decoding a message, color-by-number, or a crossword puzzle.

    Bible 2 can be used as a devotional two or three times a week. The course includes no quizzes or tests. Students can enjoy learning Bible stories and truths without academic pressure or a heavy workload.

  • Grade 3

    Sunrise Edition

    Even at a young age, there is so much that children can learn from Jesus and His parables. Bible 3 introduces students to the four Gospels. The first LightUnit (301) is a fictional story about the Passover lamb that acquaints students with Jewish culture and customs during the time of Christ. LightUnits 302-305 are a study of the Gospels that will continue into fourth grade.

    Each lesson contains a story from Jesus’ life, followed by student exercises. Unlike Bible 1 and 2, Bible 3 includes quizzes and tests. As a five-LightUnit course, Bible 3 takes only one semester to complete. Having class two or three times a week spreads the course over the entire school year.

  • Grade 4

    Sunrise Edition

    Give students a lifelong appreciation for the Bible! Bible 4 continues the study of the Gospels begun in Bible 3. The first LightUnit (401) is a fictional story that acquaints students with Jewish culture and customs during the time of Christ. LightUnits 402-405 cover Jesus’ ministry and parables, ending with His death, resurrection, and ascension.

    Each lesson contains a carefully written story from the Bible, followed by student exercises. As a five-LightUnit course, Bible 4 takes only one semester to complete. Having class two or three times a week spreads the course over the entire school year.

  • Grade 5

    Sunrise Edition

    After working through Bible 5, students will see the Old Testament with new eyes! This course begins a study of the Old Testament, starting with Creation and ending with Moses.

    Each lesson includes a well-written Bible story followed by student exercises under different headings, each with a specific focus: Know God, Know Your Bible, Those Curious Customs, and Take It to Heart. Lay of the Land map exercises help students understand the geography of the stories.

    As a five-LightUnit course, Bible 5 takes only one semester to complete. Having class two or three times a week spreads the course over the entire school year.

  • Grade 6

    Sunrise Edition

    After working through Bible 6, students will see the Old Testament with new eyes! This course picks up where Bible 5 left off, beginning with Joshua and ending with the return from captivity and a look forward to the coming Messiah.

    Each lesson includes a well-written Bible story followed by student exercises under different headings, each with a specific focus: Know God, Know Your Bible, Those Curious Customs, and Take It to Heart. Lay of the Land map exercises help students understand the geography of the stories. Toward the end of the course, students begin reading selections from the Bible. All Christian Light Bible courses use the King James Version.

  • Grade 7

    Sunrise Edition

    Give your student a thorough knowledge of Jesus’ life and ministry and a deeper understanding of how important His teachings and His work are for our salvation.

    The first LightUnit begins with a brief overview of each Gospel’s unique characteristics. The rest of the course follows the chronological order of Luke but includes events and teachings from the other Gospels. Each lesson directs the student to read a portion of Scripture and provides commentary that explains the passage. Students learn to use Strong’s Exhaustive Bible Concordance (either print or digital versions can be used). All Christian Light Bible courses use the King James Version. The course includes Bible memory work.

  • Grade 8

    Sunrise Edition

    Bible 8 helps students better understand and more deeply appreciate the New Testament. Bible 8 continues the study of the New Testament begun in Bible 7. The first four LightUnits cover the Book of Acts, and the remaining LightUnits contain brief overviews of the Epistles and Revelation.

    Each lesson directs the student to read a portion of Scripture and provides commentary that explains the passage. The course includes exercises using Strong's Exhaustive Bible Concordance and Baker’s Bible Atlas. Map work helps students understand where events happened. All Christian Light Bible courses use the King James Version. The course includes Bible memory work.

  • Grade 9

    Sunrise Edition – Christ in the Old Testament

    1 Credit

    Engage students’ hearts, not just their intellect! From the Garden to the tabernacle, to the return from exile, Bible 9 is a study of the glimpses of Christ we see in the Old Testament.

    Each lesson directs the student to read a portion of Scripture and provides commentary that explains the passage. Exercises help students interact with and remember what they read. Vocabulary sections explain KJV language as needed, and Bible memory work is included. Some exercises require Strong’s Exhaustive Bible Concordance (print or digital) and Baker’s Bible Atlas. All Christian Light Bible courses use the King James Version. The course includes Bible memory work.

    This course consists of ten LightUnit workbooks and two Answer Keys. The optional Teacher’s Guide includes helpful teaching resources but does not include answers.

    New Testament Survey

    1 Credit

    This course is a survey of the New Testament, but it also includes a study of Job and two additional themes. Because this is not a Sunrise Edition course, the material is presented in larger sections rather than daily lessons. Each section ends with a self test, which is similar to a quiz.

    The course includes ten LightUnit workbooks and five Answer Keys. Each LightUnit workbook can be completed in about three weeks.
