Based on the textbook Century 21 Accounting, 11th Edition (©2019), this course teaches multicolumn journal accounting in three cycles:
- Accounting for a Service Business Organized as a Proprietorship
- Accounting for a Merchandising Business Organized as a Partnership
- Accounting for a Merchandising Business Organized as a Corporation

The Auto Upkeep, 4th Edition textbook (©2018) covers everything from purchasing a vehicle to performing basic maintenance and repair, Auto Upkeep presents the information you need to know in an easy-to-follow format with hundreds of detailed pictures and drawings. This straightforward course will help keep you safe and potentially save you thousands of dollars. It gives an overview of all the main vehicle systems and also covers basic tools, repair facilities, roadside emergencies, and hybrid vehicles.
The student material contains five LightUnits (in one workbook) to guide the student through the text along with an Auto Upkeep workbook. Five tests provided.

Carpentry

Carpentry, 7th Edition (©2021) introduces students to every aspect of the carpentry trade. Students learn about construction materials, methods, hand and power tools, equipment, safety, reading blueprints, survey tools, foundations and slabs, frame construction, post and beam construction, and heavy concrete construction, and more. Up-to-date safety practices and related OSHA regulations are also covered.

Charting a Course
½ Credit
Based on the book Charting a Course in Your Youth, this half-credit elective helps students think seriously about finances and life, challenging them to channel their time, talents, and resources into God’s kingdom.
The course offers down-to-earth, practical guidance on saving, giving, budgeting, spending, and borrowing, illustrated by stories of real people. It explains how financial needs change throughout life and gives ideas for avoiding harmful effects of advertising, peer pressure, easy credit, and materialism.
Five LightUnits provide exercises for and direct the student through the textbook. The Answer Key includes information for the course and answers for exercises, self checks, and tests.

Christian Ethics for Youth
½ Credit
The world tries to blur the lines between right and wrong. In contrast, the Book of Proverbs gives us clear guidance for everyday living and clear warnings about the results of wrong choices.
Based on the book Christian Ethics for Youth, this course is a study of wisdom from the Book of Proverbs. Subjects include trust, obedience, submission, pride, purity, friendship, the strange woman, the virtuous woman, and the faithful man.
The course includes a textbook, five LightUnits, and one Answer Key. (Grade 9 and up.)

Church History I
½ Credit
What happened to the church after the New Testament? In this half-credit course based on the book Church History: Resurrection to Reformation, students learn the history of the church from Acts to the beginning of the Anabaptist movement in the 1500s.
Understanding how the church grew and changed over the centuries gives us a better perspective on our own times and can inspire us to faithfulness.
The course includes a textbook, five LightUnits, and one Answer Key. (Grade 10 and up.)

Computer Basics
5 LightUnits - ½ Credit
This five-LightUnit course gives students a foundation for learning computer applications. LightUnits 1 and 2 are a basic history of computers and describe how computers work. LightUnits 3 and 4 deal with computer software, including word processing, databases, spreadsheets, and desktop publishing. LightUnit 5 deals with computers in the workplace.
With the many changes in technology since this course was published in 2004, some details are outdated. However, much of the course is still relevant in learning the history of computing and how computers and software work. (Grade 9 and up)

Computer Service and Repair
1 Credit
Based on the textbook Computer Service and Repair, 5th Edition (©2021), this course teaches the fundamentals of computer technology. It takes CLE’s Computer Basics course a step further, showing how to upgrade, configure, troubleshoot, and network personal computers. The text explains the electronics needed to make devices work and the different stages in their development.
After this course, students will have the prerequisites for pursuing more technical areas involving computers.
A student study guide leads the student through the course and provides ten LightUnit Tests. (Grade 11 or 12)

Consumer Math
10 LightUnits - 1 Credit
This ten-LightUnit course applies math to everyday situations. There is no Teacher’s Guide because the LightUnits are geared for self-study. Each LightUnit takes about seventeen days to complete.
Because consumer prices and technology have changed from when the course was published in 1980, many examples and student problems are outdated. This course can still be useful in helping students learn practical math skills because the principles have not changed. The themes for each LightUnit are as follows:

Exploring Agriscience

This course is based on a middle school textbook Exploring Agriscience, Fifth Edition (©2018). It introduces students to a wide range of agricultural topics including forestry, landscaping, biotechnology, and aquaculture. Students learn the most significant components of agriculture and its importance to society. The book teaches many interesting facts about plants and animals without overloading them with details.
One workbook, instead of 10 individual LightUnits, guides the student through the text. Ten LightUnit tests are included.
The answer key include answers for all LightUnit exercises, self checks, and tests, and notes for the teacher. (Grades 8-10)

Exploring Woodworking
1 Credit
This course is based on the textbook Exploring Woodworking and serves as a foundation for future study in carpentry, cabinetry, or residential construction. It introduces the skills and tools needed to produce small woodworking projects. The course discusses types and uses of wood, hand and power tools, project planning, construction, assembly, preparation for finishing, and finishing. For the last unit, the student designs and constructs a project. The textbook includes plans and pictures for some projects.
The student material consists of an Exploring Woodworking workbook, a student guide, and ten tests. The Answer Key provides answers for the student exercises and tests. (Grade 9 and up.)

Home Economics I
10 LightUnits - 1 Credit
This 10-LightUnit course introduces high school girls to skills and knowledge needed to be godly wives, mothers, and homemakers. Many hands-on assignments provide practice in these skills.
LightUnits 1-4 cover food preparation from basic nutrition to smart shopping to putting tasty food on the table. LightUnits 5-7 teach sewing from the basics of sewing machine operation to actually sewing clothing. LightUnit 8 discusses how to keep a godly home clean and clutter-free. LightUnit 9 covers child development from birth to the preteen years.
LightUnit 10 focuses on the student herself, giving her guidance in becoming a godly woman. She is challenged to understand herself, God’s plan for her body, her relationship with God, friendships, modesty, singlehood, and Christian courtship. (Grade 9 and up)

Horticulture Today

Is your high school student interested in landscaping, gardening, fruit farming, or crop farming? This one-credit course is based on the textbook Horticulture Today. It covers all aspects of horticulture, including plant taxonomy and biology, soils and media, and plant growth and reproduction. Students learn about greenhouse management, container planting, alternative growing methods, fruit and nut production, as well as landscaping and pest control.

Century 21 Keyboarding and Information Processing (©2000) guides students in developing keyboarding skills. It also teaches document formatting and processing. Either a typewriter or computer can be used. Optional work is included for those using computers.
Textbooks are used but clean.
Student materials include a student guide dividing the book into ten LightUnits, and ten performance tests.
Besides information on the course, the teacher materials contain answers for the LightUnit exercises. (Grade 9 and up)

Modern Residential Wiring
1 Credit
Modern Residential Wiring, 12th Edition ©2021 covers basic information for installing electrical wiring in homes or light industrial applications. It introduces electrical energy fundamentals, circuit theory and components, electrician’s tools, grounding essentials, types and components of wiring systems, device wiring, reading prints, electrical remodeling, and more. The course is based on the 2020 National Electric Code, which is recommended but not required for the course.
Student materials include a workbook, a student guide, and ten tests. Besides information on the course, the answer key contain answers for the workbook exercises and tests. (Grade 10 and up)

Pilgrim's Progress
½ Credit
This literature course is based on the unabridged printing of Pilgrim’s Progress by John Bunyan, who wrote it from a prison cell in 15th century England. This allegory relates the story of Christian and his wife, Christiana, who found the way to the Celestial City. It is considered one of the greatest masterpieces of English literature.
Students read and analyze the book with the help of a workbook divided into five units and tests.
An answer key is available for the workbook and tests. (Grade 9 and up)

Practical Math
1 Credit
The textbook Practical Math, 4th Edition (©2015) provides comprehensive review of basic math concepts. Topics included are whole numbers, factors and cancellation, fractions, decimals, percentages, measurements, powers and roots, ratios and proportions, plane and solid figures, and graphs.
Fourth-edition textbook requires fourth-edition answer key. Older course materials are not compatible with the newest edition.
This is a consumable textbook with no additional student materials. The breakdown of the textbook into LightUnits is included with the text.
A separate answer key is needed for the course. (Grade 9 and up)

Print Reading for Construction
1 Credit
The textbook Print Reading for Construction, 6th Edition (©2013) teaches basic and advanced concepts needed to interpret construction prints. The textbook is comsumable and comes with a large print folder containing 140 foldout prints (17 in x 22 in) for both residential and commercial construction. Provides a hands-on experience that will benefit students considering a career in construction.
A student guide directs the student through the textbook. Ten tests are included.
The answer key consists of information for the course, answers for the exercises and tests, and a grid overlay to assist student in finding the answers on the foldout prints.

Recordkeeping
1 Credit
The textbook Recordkeeping for Christian Stewardship, 1st edition (©2010), replaces Keeping Financial Records. This course covers three areas:
Personal recordkeeping covers topics such as personal banking, budgeting, understanding credit, and taxes.
Business recordkeeping includes topics such as cash receipts and records as well as inventory, invoicing, and payroll.
Business accounting teaches double entry accounting, and the use of ledgers, journals, and financial statements. Each section ends with a project that reviews the concepts taught. The examples given are in an Anabaptist context.Student material includes two workbooks, a student guide, and a test booklet.
The hardcover teacher’s manual includes student workbook answers and test answers.
