Amish and Old Order Mennonite Schools

Joseph Stoll

The prosecutor asked the witness, “What’s the point of education? Isn’t it to get ahead in the world?” The witness replied, “It all depends on which world.” For generations, Amish and Mennonite children attended public schools. Then in 1925, the first Amish parochial school was started in Delaware. From there the movement mushroomed to more than 2500 elementary schools. This history book includes human interest stories as well as facts.
