Inspired to meet the need for Biblical reading material and school curriculum, Sanford Shank started Christian Light Publications in 1969. Despite his lack of resources and publishing experience, with God’s blessing the fledgling organization published its first book in 1971, first Sunday school materials in 1972, and first school textbook in 1974. This history chronicles the products and projects and people who have helped make Christian Light what it is today. It gives all the glory to God for His blessing. In the words of Christian Light’s one-time motto, this is an account of “God’s truth equipping God’s people to do God’s work.
